We Have a Love and occasionally Dislike relationship with Nicholas Sparks and his Books.

Nicholas Sparks over the course of his career has gripped us with his devastating realistic love stories and the occasion almost perfect guy that rarely exists. His books are tales on love but they are not tales that just make everything easy and fairytale like. They hit you with the reality of the struggles men and women in relationships. The struggle to keep the hope of love alive. And on occasion he hits us with an unexpected death, which plunges us into heartbreak. Because we come to know these characters in his books, we relate to them and we root for them. In short, we become attached to theses characters.
Mwila and I recently read his newest book, The Best of Me. Lets just say A LOT of tears were shed. Never have i cried over any of his books the way i did on this one. I see why he said the book was hard for him to write. I don't want to say much about the book for those who are yet to read it but it a story about Dawson and Amanda, from opposite sides of the tracks, who were High school sweethearts and deeply in love. They get separated by circumstance and meet 25 years later.
Whenever my sisters and i read one of his books we vow never to read another but we always find ourselves picking up another. So that's why this love, not hate, but occasionally dislike relationship exists. We laugh, we cry, we dream of finding our very own Dawson (The Best of Me), Noah (The Notebook), Miles (A Bend In The Road), Landon (A Walk to Remember) or Travis (The Choice) to mention a few LOL.

This is why we love our Nicholas Sparks and we keep on buying book after book and then watching the film adaptations.

WITH LOVE FROM EUROPE (Part 1) Mini story series

Packing, I hate Packing, I mean how i'm suppose to fit all the essentials i am going to need for the next three months in a backpack. Is this even possible. Which brings me to the question do i even want to go on this euro trip. How did i get here. Its the first summer since i started college that i am going to take a whole three months off and how i got convinced to go trekking all over Europe is beyond me. Have my friends ever heard of Human trafficking , i mean what if we get kidnapped by some psycho who wants to sell us to the highest bidder. Well here i am, i got myself pulled in and Taylor and Kenya would die before they let me get out of it with only 24hrs left. I need immediate divine intervention.
"Kat! We are here!"
Oh goodness its them! I guess this is really happening. Can i just shrink and dissappear for a while. Oh they are coming upstairs. Maybe i can escape through the window... No too late there are at my door.
"Hey guys, are you all packed already," I desperately try to make myself sound enthusiastic, by the look on Kenya's face i failed miserably.
"Seriously! Kat are you still having second thoughts?"
"Kenya, I'm...well i'm packing...that should tell you something, right?" I bet now Taylor is going to jump in and talk some sense into me.
"Listen Kat, Philly will still be here when we get back and nothing bad is going to happen. You don't always have to spend your summers working or taking summer classes. Have some fun for once in your life. Besides tomorrow will be the start of an amazing adventure." As usually Taylor almost floats around in my room daydreaming about our 'amazing adventure to come'.
"Taylor is right Kat, It will be awesome and our first stop is Ireland. Here, give me that." I hand her the backpack. "Lets help you pack and then we'll all go out to dinner, with the parents. Who, i must add, you are starting to sound like."
"We are going to dinner?" This is the first i am hearing of this. Why?
"Your mum didn't tell?"
"No!"
"And i don't blame her." Taylor says. "The way you have been these last couple of days,  I bet she thought you would back out from the trip. My mum arranged everything, its a mini going away party slush dinner. And after we three are all coming back here to spend the night. Kenya and i wanna make sure you don't skip out on us." Kenya and Taylor seem quite amused by my sensibilty. Three defenseless girls travelling alone in foreign countries doesn't seem to ring bells for them. Fine i'll go on this stupid trip and when things are not as perky as they'd hoped, i'll surely be there to say i told you so. But for all our sakes i hope our biggest problem will be navigation and language barrier.

Style Tip

Individual Style , what is it really. For one,  its not what everyone else is wearing. You should be able to set yourself apart and make it about you and you alone. Trends are wonderful, but how you wear it sets you apart. So go our there, be bold, find your individual style and wear it with confidence.

With Love,
